Alexandra Williams

I am originally from the United Kingdom. I grew up with a keen interest in the visual arts and graduated in 2008 with a P.G.C.E in Art & Design from the University of Bangor, Wales, U.K. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts from the University of Wales. I completed part of my degree in Finland and gained an Arts scholarship to study ceramics in Estonia and traditional arts in Bulgaria. I have been teaching for ten years. Prior to my appointment at SISD, I taught the British curriculum for three years, American curriculum for two years and the IB MYP and DP Visual Arts for five years.
My hobbies include various painting and illustration projects and I was recently nominated for best UAE Resident Artist at the 2018 World Art Dubai exhibition. I enjoy outdoor activities as well as working out and visiting relaxing retreats. I also love learning about different cultures, especially sampling new foods!
As a Visual Arts teacher I enjoy introducing students to a balance of 2D and 3D art forms and specialise in ceramics and glass techniques. It is my desire to engage students in a range of mediums throughout their art education.
