I was born and raised in Bolivia and started working as soon as I joined University. This gave me the opportunity to transfer my knowledge from theory into practice. The reason why I became a special needs teacher is because I strongly believe that children with special needs have many opportunities to overcome their learning disabilities. It is very important to see and understand each child as an individual with biological, psychological and emotional needs which need to be taken into consideration as all children are different and not all strategies can be easily applied in a general way. Another aspect that I believe crucial is family background, which strongly influences their learning process as well as social and emotional aspects throughout their interactions with their peers and their surroundings. I look forward to meeting all the members of the SISD school community!
