  • LLB (Hons) Degree from Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom
  • Associate with Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, United Kingdom

I was born and raised in Birmingham, UK, however moved to Nottingham to study for my Law Degree which I completed in 1992. I remained in Nottingham to complete my Law Society Finals before moving back to Birmingham to commence my Articles at a general practice law firm. As a qualified Solicitor I specialized in defending serious fraud cases and became a member of the Law Society Specialist Fraud Panel representing clients the length and breadth of the UK. After 13 years practicing criminal law I moved into the field of Defendant Personal Injury, working for a national firm who was instructed by a number of insurance clients to investigate and defend allegedly fraudulent and bogus personal injury claims.

My move to Dubai, in 2009, was as a result of my husband’s relocation to the UAE. I was employed as a legal consultant by a UK firm where I broadened my legal practice into the areas of arbitration, real estate, employment law and wills. However, as a mother of 3 young daughters, in 2014 I decided to take a change of career path for family reasons and move into HR and in particular the education sector where I was employed as the HR Manager for a group of 3 British curriculum schools in Dubai. This was not a completely new area to me as I had had my own legal practice and had also managed a branch office for a national legal firm in the UK and was therefore familiar with HR matters and employment law both in the UK and UAE. Initially when I joined the school there was only one school in operation however in September 2014 it rapidly expanded by opening a further 2 schools. During this period of time I studied for and successfully attained a CIPD qualification in Human Resource Management.

I was successfully appointed as Head of HR at SISD in April 2016. I was and still am attracted to SISD’s vision, its goals for the future and my ability to grow with SISD. I thoroughly enjoy and thrive in my role at SISD particularly as I wear many hats and no day is the same. I have an eye for detail and I like to visualize the big picture, focus on motivating staff, progress and achievements and encourage a rewarding culture within SISD. I enjoy working closely with the Head of School and senior management team in striving to make SISD an outstanding school.

When not at SISD I like to socialize with my friends and family, relax with a good book and enjoy all the fantastic things Dubai has to offer!
