I’m originally from Ireland and moved to London to study Humanities at Greenwich University. I have always had a passion for History, inspired by my teachers. Their love of learning and passion for their subject is what motivated me to become a teacher. This is why I strongly believe in the IB learner profile. It encourages students to actively enjoy their learning, thus becoming lifelong learners. As a teacher I also model my love of learning to my students, highlighting that I am also a learner. I have been teaching in the DP programme for almost 15 years and I have also been an IB History examiner.
This is my 21st year of teaching and I have been very fortunate to have taught all over the world, from Australia, London, Hong Kong, Spain and for the last ten years, I have taught IB History in Florence, Italy.
In my free time I practice Yoga, I love the outdoors, cycling, hiking, swimming and walking with my Labrador Bella. I am very excited to join the SISD community, and I look forward to teaching and inspiring more amazing students.
