Elise Furr

From a very young age, I developed a passion for teaching and helping others. I explored my love for languages and my teaching vocation during my studies at university and was accepted, during my year abroad, as a French teaching assistant in a French boarding school in the South of France. Becoming familiar with the richness of languages and the ability to communicate on so many different levels inspired me to pursue languages further and to complete my PGCE teaching diploma in French and German. I then began my teaching career in Bristol in an outstanding Cathedral school and later moved to an all girls’ outstanding school where I became Head of French. I moved to Dubai and pursued my love for languages in an international school where I was fortunate to experience internationalism and language diversity communicating harmoniously on all different levels. I also developed my leadership experience to encompass overall responsibility for Pastoral Care and Teaching and Learning. I am extremely passionate about ensuring positive emotions flourish in our students and promote self-belief and a “can do attitude” through engaging and challenging experiences.

I am excited to be joining SISD in continuing to nurture and develop a culture of collaboration, student voice and parent partnerships that underpin the B.E.S.T values of SISD.
