Born in Belgium, I caught the travel bug at eleven years old when my family and I moved to Italy: new country, new culture, new language. This was exciting! Later, I moved to the United States and lived abroad as an exchange student for a year. During my last year of university, I participated in the Erasmus programme and studied for a few months in Norway. After working as an elementary teacher for three years in Belgium, I got the opportunity to move to New Orleans where I taught for four years.
Becoming a teacher was a childhood dream, and after seven years of experience (in immersion schools only) I could not imagine doing anything else. There is nothing better than waking up with a smile on your face, ready to seize the day, ready to share your love for learning, and your love of life with children who will teach you as much as you teach them!
When I am not working, I enjoy reading, baking, traveling, and taking pictures.
