Joe is “the guy who makes things happen” and most probably the best individual to convert Omar’s school idea into reality. The two have known each other for years – they met at Webster University in Geneva – this is their first common project. The two have refined the concept together leading to this unique school in Dubai’s education landscape.
SISD brings many firsts to Dubai: a unique bilingual IB curriculum in English with French or German, a premium boarding school and the first Minergie (Low energy Swiss quality label) compliant building of the Middle East. “I like that we’re doing something so different, so unique and disruptive”.
Joe has been on all fronts and has led the set up of this new school from concept to reality.
Born in Lebanon, Joe grew up between Switzerland and France before starting to work in Paris. Joe has built, turned around and advised businesses for many years. In 2005, he relocated to Dubai to lead the buildup of Deutsche Bank’s Investment Banking franchise in the MENA region. As COO, Joe has seen the business grow from a standing start in 2005 to the largest franchise in the region with a nine fold increase in revenues and growth in headcount from 7 to 200.
You can talk to Joe in French, English and Arabic.
