Josephine Mangao Torres

CLASSROOM ASSISTANT (EARLY YEARS)
MOTTO:

Don’t limit a child to your own learning for they were not born in another time.

I was born and raised in the Philippines, where I studied and worked for 2 years before moving to Dubai in July 2008.

I have experience with children and as an admin staff in Dubai for 13 years. I studied caregiving and graduated here in Dubai and have been taking short courses at my free time. I believe that learning should be a lifelong journey.

I am now a mother of a 10 year old daughter. It was after having my own child that I realised how important it is to develop a stable foundation for the rest of the child’s life. It is by helping them develop their confidence and willingness to take risks that we develop a strong individuals. Although I’m not a teacher, seeing my brother and sister and many of my relatives teach makes me feel so happy.

I love working with children because they are like a fountains of joy: their amazing personalities, their vulnerability but bravery, their energy and their optimism, their honesty and their thoughtfulness.

My 6 months at SISD as a new member of the team has positively impacted my life in so many ways.

When I’m not working I like swimming, camping and reading books.
