PRIMARY TEACHER GRADE 1
MOTTO:

“We must teach our children to dream with their eyes wide open”- Harry Edwards

Born and raised in South Africa, many of my extended family members were dedicated and influential professionals in the education sector, and inspirational mentors who nurtured my love for teaching and working with children.

I completed my teaching degree in South Africa and spent 15 wonderful years teaching in a primary school setting. During this time, I focused my professional development on inclusive teaching practices and effective intervention strategies to optimise learning.

In 2016, my family and I relocated to Dubai, eager to explore new career opportunities and gain valuable experience within an international and multicultural setting. It has been an incredible adventure for us as a family!

I have been teaching in Dubai for 6 years now, having gained valuable experience within the British Curriculum and IB PYP. During this time, I have taught students from year 1(KG2) to year 3(Gr2), developing an in-depth knowledge of the curriculum and progression pathways within lower primary. I have been fortunate too, to share my passion for the sciences as PYP science coordinator; a role that has offered great opportunities for me to grow professionally.

I am delighted to be joining the Swiss International community! I hope to nurture curious minds and create memorable learning experiences for students along their learning journey.
