I am originally from Yorkshire in the UK. I have been teaching English for 15 years, with 4 years in the UAE. I like to motivate and challenge myself and my students by injecting new teaching and learning methods including; Silent Debate, De Bono’s Thinking Hats. I also like to critically challenge my students’ learning by discussing and exploring the social, historical and cultural context of a text in Literature and making links to the world we live in!
The gift to communicate is priceless. Studying English allows our students to widen their understanding and perspective of a fiction narrative and make it relatable to their own surrounding.
