I have wanted to be a teacher since I was five years old, simply because I love learning! During my teacher training in York in 2012, I developed a passion for inclusion and a strong interest in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Sensory Integration and Speech, Language and Communication Needs. Since then, I have worked as an Inclusion Teacher in the UK, Dubai and Azerbaijan, supporting students aged from 3 up to 18 with a wide range of barriers to learning including Autism, ADHD, Developmental Delays, Hearing Impairments, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia and Social and Emotional Needs. I have high aspirations for all of my students and enjoy getting to know them as individuals; I pride myself on being caring, enthusiastic and innovative. I also love technology and enjoy incorporating it into my lessons, as well as using assistive technology to help support Students of Determination to become more independent in their learning and daily lives. My hobbies include learning Sign Language and travelling around the world, I have been to nearly 50 countries! I am also learning French. I am passionate about creating and supporting an inclusive atmosphere in education and I can’t wait to meet the students at SISD!
