MOTTO:

If a child can’t learn the way we teach, then we need to teach the way they learn. – Ignacio Estrada

Hello! I have been an educator for the last 10 years and in Middle Leadership for 8 years. I was born in England and graduated as a teacher at the University of Warwick in the UK. Learning and teaching is my passion with a particular expertise in early learning, so I am really looking forward to joining SISD as the Early Years and Primary Teaching and Learning coordinator. I have taught in the UK, Abu Dhabi and Dubai (with 7 of those years spent in the UAE). I really enjoy living here and being a part of such a diverse and inclusive community. I am an approachable and enthusiastic educator and leader and genuinely believe working with children and young people is the best job there is! In which other career can you have an impact on inspiring and shaping so many lives! I believe strongly in the importance of working with parents and the positive impact this can have on a child’s education and holistic wellbeing.  I’m passionate about building a whole school community that everyone feels a part of so if you see me, feel free to come and share with me how our school community can be even better and thrive even more. I would love to hear from you!

Throughout my career so far, I have led Maths across a school, PE and learning skills. I have also been Grade Leader and Phase Leader. Developing the learning and teaching skills of our valued teaching assistants has also been an area of responsibility as well as developing teaching and learning across the primary phase. Coming from a KHDA rated outstanding school in Dubai, I am excited to be bringing the best of my experience to build on the amazing values and education at Swiss International.

My hobbies include travel, reading and participating in step classes. I have a keen interest in fitness and health and used to be a class fitness instructor. I love reading with children and helping to build and develop their creativity and imagination. I strive to make the Early Years the exciting foundation of primary education, leading into a successful and exciting whole school education experience. My personal philosophy is to promote a curiosity for learning and instill an attitude of enjoyment and motivation to learn throughout school life. By providing a happy and engaging school experience, where all children lead their own learning, I believe each child can feel safe and become confident, resilient learners. It is our job to equip children with the 21st century skills needed in an ever-changing world, preparing them for the world of tomorrow. I am very excited to be meeting you soon and look forward to getting to know you and your child more as the year goes on.
