Originally from London, I have lived in the UAE for the past 7 years and have been working in education for over 11 years. I have an honours degree in Genetics and Microbiology and have taught in the British curriculum and the IB curriculum.
I am an avid traveller and enjoy learning about new cultures, which I enjoy sharing with others. In addition, I have an interest in palaeontology, design and technology. Education is a constantly evolving entity. For students to be afforded the opportunity to grow and learn within education, they must be able to independently absorb and apply the knowledge garnered from their time at school. A cohort of students present a myriad of needs, abilities, strengths and weaknesses.
Our role as educators is to be responsible for the successful facilitation of the learning that is best suited to the students. Learners should leave education equipped to deal with the challenges of life as an adult, having been prepared by their experiences in school.
