I was born and raised in a countryside town in Ireland, my childhood helped me develop a deep appreciation of nature and the simple pleasures in life. In my spare time I enjoy spending time outdoors, being active and reading. I have always been passionate about History and Geography and hold a degree in these subjects along with my primary teaching degree. I believe that History is a window to the world, and we cannot be successful in our future if we do not reflect on our past. My passion for geography is the reason I began to travel and as such I have learnt so much about other cultures and traditions. I have been teaching in the U.A.E for the last 5 years and have thoroughly enjoyed teaching and working with such a wide range of nationalities. I have taught in the Irish, British, American and IB curriculum, and this has sculpted my teaching philosophy. The IB curriculum affords students the opportunity to become open minded, motivated and globally conscious individuals while teaching them the skills that they need in order to be successful, lifelong learners. SISD is a perfect example of a school that follows these philosophies, and it is a real joy and motivation to be working in an exemplary school such as this.
