Teresa Pollard

Teresa Pollard is an experienced visual arts teacher and practicing artist. Born and raised in Brazil, she studied painting at the Parque Lage Visual Arts School and has a B. A. degree in Visual Communication from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Teresa moved to London and studied at the Institute of Education, University of London, where she gained a PGCE in Art and Design. She has worked in British state and public schools as a teacher and Head of Department. Prior to teaching, she worked as a printed textile and fashion designer, and later as a mural artist. Teresa is passionate about art and design, not only as a vehicle for self-expression but also as a tool to develop transferable skills, such as creativity and critical thinking. She has lived in Dubai for three years and loves the multi-cultural, vibrant atmosphere of the city.
