A cornerstone of a great school is having great pride, passion and team spirit amongst the school community.
At SISD, sport is one of the ways we harness this pride and passion, and we are committed to ensuring every student has the opportunity to take part, but also to excel if they can. It is our goal to use competitive sport to build on the values, lessons and instruction provided during day-to-day lessons, and as part of our curriculum.
It is also our aim to create a sense of community and to build a common bond through support for our teams. Finally, we want to instill an unmatched sense of pride through commitment, teamwork, perseverance, effort, and the ability for students to represent their school in sporting and athletic competitions.

At SISD, we are very proud of our sport – very proud of the opportunities we offer for all our students, and very proud of our opportunities for excellence that we offer our very talented students.
We offer a huge variety of sports, and are very lucky to have some of the best sporting facilities in Dubai. These include an Olympic sized swimming pool, basketball courts, football pitches, a full sized gym and cardio suite, indoor and outdoor running tracks, tennis and padel tennis courts, beach volleyball and lots more.
Our students are encouraged to participate in the sports, not only as part of the curriculum, but also in the wide array of after-school sports clubs we offer, and the sporting teams. Our sports teams compete within the leagues in Dubai, and competitions take place every week against the other top schools in Dubai. We are very proud of our team successes across all the age groups, and students form as young as 8 years are encouraged to join one of our sporting teams.
For our very sporty and talented athletes, we offer a Speedo swim academy, a dedicated athletics academy, and opportunities for the students to compete nationally and internationally in sporting fixtures and events.
Our PE team are dedicated sports coaches, all with sporting passions and interests of their own, and the students are coached by these high quality individuals, always encouraging students to be the BEST they can be!
Dubai Affiliated School Sport Association (DASSA)
SISD is a member of the Dubai Affiliated School Sport Association (DASSA). DASSA oversees school sporting competitions for over 70 Dubai schools in a plethora of sports. Our academic year includes 3 sport seasons which are aligned with our after school activities calendar.
At SISD we currently have competitive teams for both boys and girls in the following sports:
- Basketball
- Football
- Golf
- Tennis
- Swimming
- Track and Field
Our Sports Academies
Our Speedo Swim Academy offers talented swimmers the option to train before and after school with dedicated Speedo coaches
Our Athletics Academy is new and launching in 2023! Talented athletes and runners will be offered dedicated training sessions before and after school with the AIS coaching team.

DASSA Secondary Athletics: Crushing it with gold medals!
Yassin came first in U19 boys 800m & 1500m, Mariza claims 1st in U19 girls 100m with Sarah in 3rd. Sarah takes the lead in U19 girls 200m, while Mariza secures 3rd. Lina shines bright with 1st place in U13 girls 600m.

It’s official - SISD has the fastest U8 girls 4x100m relay team in Dubai. 60 schools across the city entered teams, our girls qualified 6th initially and were invited to the DASSA Championship that took place yesterday. At the Championship they were superb; their transitions were crisp, their teamwork was brilliant and they finished 1st overall. Well done girls!👏👏
Congratulations to Joe El Helou, Grade 4, who competed in the Dubai Open Basketball Academies championship last weekend. Joe`s team JAM U10 won the DOBA championship, and he was elected the most valuable player in the finals!
