Terence Connolly

ARTS AND DESIGN COORDINATOR / DRAMA TEACHER
MOTTO:

“Being in your element is not only about aptitude, it’s about passion: it is about loving what you do.”- Sir Ken Robinson.

Originally from Manchester in the United Kingdom, I have taught Drama and Performing Arts for seven years in both the UK and the UAE. As a performer I have been lucky enough to be involved in an eclectic mix of productions working with different professional companies within the sector such as Frantic Assembly, English Ballet and various touring TIE companies.

I graduated with a B.A. hons in Drama and went on to complete my Professional Graduate Diploma in Education. As a teacher, I have had the privilege of working across most age ranges from a primary setting through to adult education in various schools and colleges in the UK and UAE. Before joining SISD, I have spent my tenure as Head of Drama in Abu Dhabi for four years teaching British curriculum, GCSE and BTEC and two as Head of Arts within Dubai teaching IB MYP and DP.

I believe that every student can develop a passion for the arts and it is my aim as a teacher to nurture and grow this so it can continue long after they have finished their academic studies. I am looking forward to working with such a diverse team and community within SISD.
