Throwback to the impact the SISD community made through the The Fruitful Community Initiative last year! 🌟🍇
Our amazing students, parents, and staff volunteers came together to share 15,000 fresh fruits, serve 2,500 hot Iftar meals, and distribute 1,000 snack packs to 4,300 of our community members - the construction workers, gardeners, and delivery drivers who keep our city running! 🙌

ASAs are back! An active weekend for our boarding students as they immerse themselves into fun and active boarding life in Dubai!
Friday kicked off with a refreshing swim, followed by some friendly competition at the bowling alley. 🎳The weekend wrapped up with a visit to the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Centre for Cultural Understanding in Old Town, Dubai.

When our parents visited school this week for our `Meet the Leadership` sessions, they had the chance to stop by our Future in Focus photo booth. We are thrilled to announce that Amina Daroueche is joining our Primary leadership team as Assistant Head of Early Years and Primary, focusing on languages and bilingualism.
Amina has been an invaluable part of SISD for the past six years, leading our French language department with distinction since 2022. Her background includes extensive experience in Early Years, Primary, and Secondary education, and she holds a Master`s degree and teaching credentials from the French Ministry of National Education.
We are excited to see Amina’s continued impact in advancing our language programs.

Experience a world-renowned IMG Academy camp in Dubai for the first time! Don`t miss this opportunity to enhance your child’s skills at the co-ed developmental day and residential camp taking place the week of 15-20 December right here at SISD.
Athletes aged 12-18 can take part no matter their skill level. This IMG Academy sport camp includes group training, position-specific skill work, and game-like scenarios to help them level up their game, along with Mental Performance training to inspire their confidence, resilience, and mental fortitude.
Students will have the opportunity to reside on campus in its purpose-built boarding houses as part of the programme—providing an opportunity for students from the wider Middle East region and internationally to participate as well.

Secondary learning in action!
Today we took a peek into what our Grade 7 students were up to and they were kicking off their musical journey with band instruments under the guidance of our new music teacher, Mr. Lyall!
Learning an instrument not only encourages creativity and discipline but also boosts cognitive skills and enhances teamwork.

This week was all about raising ambitions, setting expectations and encouraging aspirations. Our younger Secondary students had the opportunity to meet with professional athlete, Tommy Ramdhan, as part of our guest speaker series.
Tommy was part of the British team 2022 European Athletics Championships; he ran 4th leg of the 4 x 100 metres relay that won their semi-final to qualify for the final where the team went on to win gold in the final. He is also Double European Champion 200m. 🥇🥇
Tommy talked about the highs and lows he faced in his career, and also how he overcame challenges to achieve sporting success. He also met with some of our sports scholars for a Q&A session after the assembly.

This summer, Grade 10 Student Grigorii completed a programme at Columbia University. Here is what he wanted to share about his experience:
"Over the course of 3 weeks this summer, I participated in a filmmaking program at Columbia University.
It wasn`t something I would typically be interested in, but not only did I have a great (albeit chaotic) time making the film, I also learned the value of film language and how to communicate ideas universally. As well as that, I explored New York and the deep history it has in its streets.
This experience was incredibly fulfilling for me, and I can`t wait to come back to this wonderful city."
