SISD community have a duty of care towards the safety and welfare of our students.

Our Child Protection and Safeguarding policy outlines our school safeguarding procedures.

Our school policy is in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE 2022) and UAE Child Protection Law 2016. Please read the policy here.

UAE Wadeema law describes child abuse, “Every action or omission that would lead to the harm of the child and prevent the latter’s upbringing and growth in a sound, safe and healthy manner.” Please read the law and policy here.

Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.

Safeguarding means:

  • protecting children from abuse and maltreatment
  • preventing harm to children’s health or development
  • ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care
  • taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcomes

Keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility, all our school staff including visitors have a duty of care to ensure welfare of our students and to report any concerns to Designated Safeguarding Lead or the Safeguarding Team. All staff have a duty to report any suspected or disclosed cases relating to child protection to the Safeguarding Team.
