MOTTO:

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education” – Martin Luther King Jr

It is an honour and a privilege to be joining SISD. I am 30 years old and hail from Porthcawl, a small seaside town in Wales. I have been a teacher for 6 years and come from a family of teachers. Both of my parents taught music and my grandfather was a headmaster in South Wales. I graduated from Cardiff University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Welsh Language and Literature and soon after graduating I began working for South Wales Police. This was a tough but rewarding experience and I learned a lot from being in that environment. I love sport and have played rugby and football from a young age. I am also a very keen golfer and in my youth was very good at karate, and have represented Wales in kumite. I also enjoy listening to music and watching movies. I love reading books and enjoy true crime and fiction novels. My vision and mission for my time at SISD is to develop students’ English language ability to a standard that allows them to access all areas of the curriculum and to develop them as independent, lifelong learners.
